My Favorite Knitting Blogs of 2018

Oh, knitting blogs, how I love you so. I’ve been reading knitting blogs since the first year I started knitting, and they inspire me to keep knitting and growing my skills. With every new year comes new blogs, so I wanted to share what I’ve been reading.

I’ve limited it to the top 10 blogs, but there are so many that I read. Most knitters already know of the more famous blogs- the Yarn Harlot, Mason Dixon Knitting, etc. I wanted to feature some of the lesser known/newer blogs that I’ve discovered.

1. Sister Mountain

I love this blog because it’s beautiful and very informative. It reminds me of the Fringe Co blog– clean, minimalist, and focused on building a slow fashion wardrobe.

2. Zeneedle

This blog is inspirational and calming to read. Her pictures really encompass nature as well as everyday life. You really feel like you get a look at her daily life (which includes an enviable handknit sock collection and an epic looking knitting group!).

3. A Friend to Knit With

As a teenager, I really love that she knits for her college-age kids a lot, which means that she posts tons of FOs that are trendy for people my age. She has a lovely youtube channel, as well.

4. Wooly Thyme

Pretty pictures, an adorable dog, and laugh out loud commentary sums up Wooly Thyme. It’s a knitting blog worth checking out.

5. The Feisty Redhead

There aren’t enough good things I can say about this blog! I just love it- she’s such a beautiful knitter and her blog is beyond beautiful.

6. Little Bobbins

I haven’t been able to find many knitting youtube channels that are well shot and interesting, but Little Bobbins is definitely one of the best knitting blogs out there! Her videos are so well produced and I love her cozy knitting aesthetic.

7. Tanis Fiber Arts

Tanis has such a beautiful family, and it inspires me that they all wear her lovely hand knits. She also has a really beautiful Etsy shop!

8. Knit the Hell Out

From tutorials to hilarious commentary, this knitting blog is AMAZING! I just found it about a week ago and I’m already obsessed. Her tutorials are really, really helpful- even for advanced knitters.

9. Baby Cocktails

Photos really make or break a blog. I am totally smitten with Thea’s pictures- they’re hardcore eye-candy. She’s an amazing designer, too.

10. Heidi Bears

I recently started knitting two at a time socks and wasn’t sure how to turn a short row heel two at a time. This blog saved my (sock knitting) life. Her tutorials are the most in-depth I’ve ever seen on a blog, and even more in-depth than a lot of online classes I’ve taken. I strive to put out the same quality of content as she does one day.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed this post on the top 10 knitting blogs of 2018. Let me know in the comments your favorite knitting blogs!
